Thread: Lots of people seem to be bvanned from the chatroom for no reason!?!?!?!

Any idea what's happened?

That's odd. I've asked one of my tech guys to look into it, hopefully can fix shortly.

This is really weird. Can you tell me what exactly happens, ie. which page you click on, what it says precisely, as much information as you can give to help resolve it.

It's as simple as clicking "chat" (after being logged in) and sometimes the page that then comes up says that you are banned. I can't reproduce it at the moment as I'm presently unbanned!

Ok banned again. The page specificially says: "You have been banned!"

I've contacted the creater of the software http://hot-things.net/, to see if he can suggest any fix for this. They've got a new version 5 due out any time, so hopefully that will also fix the problem. I'll keep checking though if it's something on our side.

I received a reply from the guys that created the chat software. They got me to clear the ip ban list which I did so that might fix it. But they did say the new version (out before the end of this month) has a completely new banning/permission system, so if we're still having problems, upgrading to it should fix them - which we intend to do straight away.
